Text to World Connections
In this book Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins there are a lot of text to world connections. One obvious connection is that the districts are basically like cities here in the US. Each district in the Hunger Games in different than one another, and the same goes with cities in the US. Also in the book, there are some not so obvious topics that are similar to the real world. This includes the actual games in the book, since it can relate to people playing video games that include having to kill people. In the book, it talks about some of the things that came out of the arena. It says, "They recognize me. Of course they recognize me. My face is uncovered and im standing here outside of District 12 pointing an arrow at them. Who else would I be? "I know it matches the pin I wore in the arena"" (Collins 140). This book has a lot more connections that can relate to the unrealistic things that happen today.

Do you think killing in video games is similar to killing in the Hunger Games?
