Samantha is surprised when she see's this boy on her roof, ""Hey" he says again, sitting down next to me as though he knows me well. "Need rescuing?"... "Why would i need rescuing? This is my house, my roof." "I dont know. It just hit me, seeing you there, that you might be Rapunzel. The princess in the tower thing. All that long blonde hair...well..." "And you'd be?" I know im going to laugh if he says "the prince."" This demonstrates the theme of the book because the Garrets arent all that the mom thought that they would be. This shows that the Garrets are a caring, but huge family. All in all, this shows that the theme of the story is, don't judge someone by their looks on the outside, its the inside that really counts.
This is just the start of the Garrets meeting up with each other because the theme of this book is mainly love and family. This theme shows how two people that are next door to each other secretly hang out without the parents finding out. These action propel the story becuase the characters get closer in the story with in every chapter, trying to not let the parents find out. The main character (Samantha) demonstrates this in the book by heading over the the Garrets house every day, then she comes home 10 minutes before her curfew. Finally she never gets caught, becuase her mom is always on dates every night.
